Hon. Prince Shiban Tikari was born in Takum Local Government of Taraba state. He had his early education at Tudun Wada Primary School Donga and later Government Day Secondary School Takum. In his pursuit for educational career, he further to the Plateau School of Accountancy & Monotechnic(PSAM Jos) for Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo, where he bagged Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy. Still, In his quest to carve a niche in himself, he enrolled a post-graduate Diploma(PGD) from Benue State University, Makurdi and other professional qualifications from the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution(IPCR) with proficiency in Internal Conflict Prevention and Resolution respectively.
Shiban picked up his first appointment with the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) in Makurdi, Benue state, and rose to the rank of Accounting Officer having served and trained in various rudiments of Accouting in the NIPOST Training School Enugu.
Shiban later joined the National Unity and Peace Corps(NUPEC), where he acquired skills in peace and conflict resolution - It is against this backdrop that, the former Executive Chairman of Takum Local Government Council, Hon. Tanko Tampti appointed him as his adviser on security matters.
Owing to his leadership dexterity amid prowess in peace and conflict management, he was made the Vice Chairman of Takum Local Government Council and later Caretaker Chairman of Takum Local government by His Excellency, Gov Darius Dickson Ishaku.
Undoubtedly, Shiban's demonstration of unflinching loyalty to the "Rescue" course of the present administration in Taraba state, apart from his embedded leadership qualities, especially on ensuring that Takum and environs maintains harmonious degree of friendship amongst people of different ethnic, and cultural and religious beliefs under his watch; a firm asserting quality service which endeared him to Gov Darius Ishaku - There, he became a sellable candidate to Takumites when he was presented to serve as the Executive Chairman of Takum Local Government Council, a poll he won overwhelmingly and serving meritoriously!
Admittedly, Shiban's humane disposition, coupled with his outdoor engagement earned him popularity in Takum and environs, especially to the soccer admirers of his school days who nicknamed him "Organizer" owing to his skills in goal keeping and general charismatic attributes of human relations.
As a good soccer man, he plays his sportsmanship experience into helping people and ensuring peace takes it rightful place in the society. As a peace builder, Shiban showcased his talent of a leader and harmonize relationship among the people of the Local government.
As an astute administrator whose expertise in peace and conflict resolution is building fibres of peace across Takum and environs, he deserves accolades amidst hands of cooperation to spur him achieve more.
Apparently, It is a calling admonish to virulent detractors of Hon Shiban not to sweep his efforts towards peace building in Takum under the carpet or wish him the activities of mischievous intentions due to his accountable stewardship in the realm of service delivery.
