The news of his dead was contained in a press release signed by Jolly Agbu Masa-IBI, SA Media to Aku-Uka. According to the source all traditional rites in accordance to the JUKUN culture have since started. He further said, the final traditional rites for Aku Uka’s transition from the Palace to Puje would be announced in due course. His Royal Majesty, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masa-Ibi CFR (Kuvyon II), before his death was the chairman Taraba State council of Rulers. His Royal Majesty, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masa-Ibi CFR (Kuvyon II) was crowned the Kuvyon II at Byepi, in 1976 as the 27th monarch of Kwararafa and the 13th from the inception of  Wukari Federation. May his Royal soul rest in perfect peace
